Staff Work Schedule: 100% FTE salaried position. The scheduled
shifts are primarily Monday-Friday day shifts with some off shifts
and weekends. Hours may vary based on the needs of the department.
You will work on-site primarily at American Family Children’s
Hospital (AFCH) located in Madison, WI. Description: Be part of

University Hospital in Madison, WI! - Play a pivotal role in
launching the new Pediatric Cardiac ICU (CICU) at American Family
Children’s Hospital, shaping care delivery for a growing population
of complex cardiac patients within a Level I Pediatric Trauma
Center. - Serve as the clinical expert for pediatric cardiac
critical care, advancing nursing practice and elevating standards
of care in a newly established, highly specialized CICU
environment. - Identify gaps in care and lead the design,
implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based interventions that
improve outcomes for children with congenital and acquired heart
disease. - Mentor and consult with nursing staff to strengthen
clinical expertise, integrate emerging technology, and promote
excellence in pediatric cardiac intensive care. - Lead quality
improvement and research initiatives while influencing system-level
decisions to remove barriers and optimize care for critically ill
children and families. - Act as a clinical expert for specific
clinical populations; this position requires a completed MSN degree
and a minimum of three years of pediatric cardiac ICU nursing
experience (strongly preferred) to support this high-acuity,
transformative expansion in pediatric cardiac care. At UW Health,

degree in Nursing Required - Master's Degree or doctoral degree
(DNP or PhD) with CNS role focus Preferred Work Experience - 2
years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required - 3 years of
relevant clinical nursing experience Preferred - Previous
experience as a clinical nurse specialist Preferred - Experience in
an academic medical center Preferred Licenses & Certifications -
Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Wisconsin or
holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse
