seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Oshkosh,
Wisconsin! The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning
and performing investigative studies of labor, material and
equipment, develop and reports on recommendations for improvement
and provide support in their implementation, under the general
direction of the Engineering Manager. Apply now! Responsibilities:
Perform detail studies of operation using sound industrial
engineering principles and procedures. Prepare detail layouts of
work stations to optimize the efficiency of work methods and
machine operations. Perform engineering assistance to Materials,
Engineering, and Operations Management in defining operation
sequence, tooling and fixture requirements. Perform feasibility
studies on new or modified equipment, tooling and machining, as
assigned. Investigate production problems, develop new or revised
operating methods and provide support to superior and manufacturing
management in the determination and development of required capital
expenditures. Participate in the implementation of approved
projects concerned with tools, fixtures and special purpose
machinery and provide assistance to Mechanical/Manufacturing
Engineer, as required. Analyze operations, develop motion economy
and manufacturing time standards applicable to cost estimating and
production standards. Use stop-watch time study and analyses of
historical data to develop elemental time data, summarize, define
variables, and prepare charts and reference tables. Provide support
and assistance to Cost Accounting, as required. Develop operation
process specifications. Participate in Engineering Society Programs
and Seminars to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Manufacturing
methods and procedures in industry. Occasional travel to SNC Mexico
to work on product transitions and product launches. Perform other
related duties as assigned or associated with the responsibility.
Develop improvements to manufacturing methods Establish
manufacturing standards and prepare workstation layouts Participate
in cost reduction programs and analyze value of proposals and
suggestions. Qualifications Knowledge of electrical transformer
manufacturing practices, methods, and procedures, including bench
assembly, special-purpose machinery, molding, coating, testing
operations, test specifications, and quality assurance requirements
Education equivalent to a high school diploma plus a broad
practical background, with specialized training comparable to two
years of college in industrial or manufacturing engineering Three
to four years of related manufacturing or industrial engineering
experience Ability to analyze labor, materials, and equipment;
develop recommendations to improve operations; and support
implementation Ability to work independently using sound judgment
to improve methods and procedures within established policies and
precedent Experience providing efficient tools, jigs, and fixtures
and training employees on new or revised work methods High level of
accuracy and responsibility required; failure to improve
inefficient setups, workstations, or production methods may result
in excessive costs over time Ability to communicate effectively
with all levels of management, requiring explanation, discussion,
and approvals, while demonstrating tact and professionalism Ability
to work with confidential product and manufacturing development
information Work requires normal mental and visual attention,
manual coordination for a significant portion of the workday, and
the ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to
