Overview









The GIS Outside Plant Analyst I is expected to assist in the creation and construction of OSP designed maps using GIS. The successful candidate will have to understand numerous projects, possibly located in multiple locations and states. This position will assist in continually monitoring design costs and monitoring job progress to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget. This position will use GIS as a hub to enable collaboration between multiple arms of the organization. It will also have an emphasis on developing tools, organization, processes, and reporting from GIS data sources. This position can be hired at either a GIS Outside Plant Analyst (2023-22167) or GIS Outside Plant Analyst I (2023-22168) level depending on the skills and qualifications of the candidate. Responsibilities

• Perform all types of analysis not covered by existing applications
• Able to handle multiple complex projects concurrently. Able to switch between projects with minimal downtime.
• Partner with Regional OSP and external contractors on the use, functions, and tools within GIS.
• Understand, enforce, and guide various groups in the use of GIS tools and processes
• Manage the implementation and communication of new tools and processes
• Develop strong working relationship with contractors, so communication is constant for issues and project status throughout.
• Take requests and obtain necessary information for future development
• Understanding workflows of multiple groups and how they interact

  Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree (or higher) -OR- 2+ years professional work experience.
  • 3+ years experience in Voice, Data, or Video networking.Other Qualifications
    • 2+ years' experience in GIS, ESRI and ArcGIS
    • Experience with the use of GIS in engineering or construction
    • Ability to travel up to 10%
    • GIS Certificate
    • Python, SQL, AutoCAD, or other coding languages
    • Experience in Telephony or related fields
    • Excellent leadership, customer relations, and communication skills
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • PC database, spreadsheet, and word processing skills
    • Working knowledge of NESC construction practices and engineering standards
    • Ability to work in a cooperative and courteous manner with diverse work groups
