Job Description:

General SummaryConduct product and line inspections and testing to ensure safe, quality products are being produced.Perform lab tests and enter results into database.Support Food Safety Programs, efforts and QA Manager and department.Principal Duties and Responsibilities- Collect ingredient samples for analysis, conduct tests and report any results out of specification.- Enter results of product evaluations and production checks into the computer database, using Micro-soft Excel;analyze the data using charts, graphs and statistics, report trends to the QA Manager.-Conduct laboratory tests using equipment (but not limited to) like weigh scales, measurement tools, pH meters,moisture meters, Near Infrared Analyzer, and water activity meter. Clean and maintain laboratory equipment.-Perform line process audits for conformance to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).-Conduct process audits and line checks to ensure the manufacturing process conforms to customerspecifications.-Examine and document line inspections for compliance with standard operating procedures. (Verification ofcorrect product, correct formulation, documentation of ingredient lot numbers, verification of correct code date.)-Sample product, learn how to prepare samples and conduct bake tests of our products, and report a finishedproduct evaluation. (Learn the procedure on how to "slack out" a frozen bagel for baking.)-Verify production sheets are complete and accurate.-Assist in training production employees on properly conducting tests or product sampling.-Place non-conforming product on QA Hold.-Conduct Hazard Analysis Critical Control line verifications.-Participate in plant self-inspections auditing Good Manufacturing Practices.-Perform scheduled scale, thermometer calibration, & chemical titration checks.-Work in a safe manner.-Must be able to effectively communicate issues and concerns regarding product quality or safety to supervisorsthrough written and verbal communication.-Other duties as assigned.Vision Requirements:Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision;Peripheral vision; Depth perception; Ability toadjust focus.How much noise is typical for the workenvironment of this job?Loud (example - Earth moving equipment)Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesIndicate the minimum qualifications which should be required in filling a future vacancy of this position. The qualification listed should be essential to job performance.Education:-High School Diploma or equivalent required.Experience:-Six (6) months bakery or factory process control required.Special Knowledge, Abilities, Skills:-Able to read, write and speak English.-Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.-Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the basic use of computer software.-Data entry.-Ability to perform analytical testing is also a plus.-Good observational skills a must.-Attention to detail a must.-Competency in mathematics a must.You should be proficient in:

  • Quality Control Data AnalysisSalary info:$16.50 - $19.50 / hr
