The primary role will be to execute and enhance quarterly and monthly reserve analyses, understand and report on profitability metrics, assist with loss ratio forecasting, and communicate financial information to various stakeholders.

The successful candidate has excellent technical skills and is a creative, out-of-the-box thinker who is intellectually curious with a demonstrated interest in learning. This person will also need to be a self-motivated, high-energy individual who can easily function in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. They must be accustomed to working on multiple tasks in parallel and committed to meeting deadlines, including some with short time frames.Primary Roles and ResponsibilitiesReserve Analysis

  • Perform and enhance quarterly and monthly reserve analyses for commercial lines and communicate results to leadership.
  • Collaborate with business partners in Claims, Reserving, and Product to understand impact from internal and external factors on reserves, loss development patterns, and trends.
  • Support technical and data initiatives to improve the reserving process.
  • Address ad hoc reserving analyses and research as requested.Loss Ratio Reporting
    • Maintains and enhances processes and standards for report automation, report distribution, and tool / information access.
    • Draws insights from data and clearlycommunicates complex findings to stakeholders and external customers.Loss Ratio Forecasting
      • Executes, maintains, and enhances forecasting models.
        • Conducts business analysis to support and drive business decisions and forecast results.Analytics Support
          • Provides analytic services to the Product and Actuarial functions within the division.
          • Sources data for analytics projects; assesses data quality.
          • Partners with database and data analytics teams to ensure quality reporting and analysis.Qualifications:
            • Experience: 2 - 4+ years P&C actuarial experience
            • Educational Credentials: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or another quantitative field of study required.
            • Actuarial Exams: 3 - 5+ Actuarial Exams passed; potentially ACAS
            • Analytical Expertise: Capable of conducting quantitative analysis; strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills; proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Business Intelligence applications a plus.
            • Technical Knowledge: Experience with database tools and software packages including SQL, R, and Python a plus.
