YOU MUST ALSO MEET BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS.*POSITION SUMMARY: *The Industrial Maintenance & Rolling Stock Mechanic will be responsible for providing for the day-to-day preventive maintenance, repair, and fabrication necessary to maintain facility manufacturing machinery and rolling stock inventory, including conveyors, grinders, shredders, screeners, fans, tools, trailers and heavy equipment, and etc. Applicants must have the ability to read and understand mechanical\ \electrical diagrams and technical repair manuals. Perform other maintenance/mechanical duties as required to promote overall plant productivity and safety effectiveness.*KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ** Adhere to Health & Safety compliance in accordance with company policy.* Repair and PM industrial equipment.* Inspect and communicate condition for machinery per PM.* Inventory tool supply and maintain shop cleanness.* Provide leadership to machine operators as needed.* Establish, maintain, and promote high standards of customer service.* Metal fabrication using cutting torch, plasma cutter, welder, and other power tools.* Ensure compliance with DOT & OSHA procedures and practices.* Complete paperwork on work orders and PM checklists recording all repairs and any parts used.* Perform safety inspections on machine guarding, fire prevention equipment, etc.* Other duties as assigned.* Responsible for the maintenance and repair of processing\ \manufacturing equipment: compressors, conveyors, grinders, shredders, screeners, fans, electric motors, electric tools, and air tools.* Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in the facility, both verbally and in writing.* Reading and understanding mechanical technical repair manuals* Perform routine brake inspections/ adjustments on commercial vehicles following Federal DOT requirements* Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis* Performing assigned duties with little or no supervision or instruction* Applying knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions applicable to maintenance work* Operating personal lifts and material handling tools* Knowledge of machine and tools used, including torch\ \welding equipment, minor electrical work, hydraulics, hand tools* Understanding of OSHA & DOT regulations and implementation of safety regulations* Ensures manufacturing processes are capable with respect to quality specifications.* Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and repair as necessary* Ability to make steel fabrications via measuring, cutting, bending and welding* Knowledge in the general repair of processing\ \manufacturing equipment* Maintains a safe and productive work environment.* Performs other job-related duties as assigned.*EDUCATIONAL AND JOB EXPERIENCE: ** Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing /industrial environment.* Minimum 1 years mechanical experience for trailer repair* Mechanical experience* Basic standard tool set* High school diploma or GED*ABILITIES REQUIRED*While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and fingers, to handle or fell objects, tools, or controls.
