Enable Innovation. Improve Life.Mirus Bio is seeking a full-time on-site Supervisor, Production to join our growing team based in Madison, Wisconsin. The Supervisor, Production ensures products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe and timely manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations. The position is responsible for direct management of experienced scientists and production specialists to successfully support Mirus Bio Product Portfolio. The Supervisor is responsible for the performance of the Production Team including safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity. This position proactively engages with internal suppliers, external suppliers, support functions, and customers in Operations, Procurement, Quality, R&D, Product Management to create value across the organization that focuses on improving the external customer experience. This position provides influential leadership that enables the teams to achieve customer focused and financial goals. The role supports the implementation of Lean Management Practices, to enable elimination of waste and improving flow, and for driving a culture that is effective at root cause and corrective, preventive action.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains a safe work environment, a high level of safety awareness among employees, and implements 5S principles.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and live the Mirus Bio values.
  • Fosters an organizational structure that enables successful completion of both daily production activities and new production projects. Ensures timely and efficient completion of project milestones within Operations and across supporting functions.
  • Supports the growth of the business by working with cross-functional teams to develop new capabilities. Supports the establishment of new product SKUs in the ERP and management of all existing Bills of Material to ensure accuracy of work orders and manufacturing metrics.
  • Monitors inventory of materials and ensures supply chains remain effective to prevent disruption of product manufacturing.
  • Ensures compliance with Quality Management System. Creates, maintains, and updates procedures and documents. Support management of deviations and drive corrective action.
  • Reviews manufacturing records and removes barriers to ensure on-time delivery of scheduled production. Supports hand-on activities in the lab as required.
  • Collaborates effectively with financial partners to monitor costs and monthly results.
  • Fosters a culture of root cause analysis and effective problem solving. Monitors, reviews, troubleshoots, and improves manufacturing and quality related activities.
  • Mentors and develops direct reports and entire team. Provides timely, honest, and specific feedback; actively promote individual development planning.
  • Creates environments of transparency and trust in which employee can communicate their opinions openly.
  • Supports goals, sets priorities, and coordinates all related activities within the team to drive focus towards meeting common business objectives.
  • Actively participates in Daily Management using Leader Standard Work best practices.
  • Provides leadership guidance during Gemba walks, Lean Initiatives, Kaizen Events, Management Reviews, etc.
  • Manages team KPIs and trends. Identify gaps, evaluates root cause with process and data-driven approach, and implement countermeasures effectively.REQUIREMENTSEducation
    • BS or equivalent degree is required, an advanced degree such as a MS is a plus.Experience
      • Minimum of 2+ years of progression in leadership positions of increasing responsibility, with a preference for experience in a biotech manufacturing setting requiring high reliance on effective use of laboratory production equipment and standard operating procedures. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
        • Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
        • Experience in the biotech industry with an established Quality Management System is required, ISO or cGMP is a plus.
        • Knowledge, experience, or training in Lean techniques and proficient in process auditing. Possess a continuous process improvement mindset with the ability to effectively lead and manage change.
        • Strong project management and organizational skills.
        • Formal Project Management Training (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
        • Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite.
        • Possess a solid working knowledge of other business functions such as Logistics, Finance, Engineering, Planning, EH&S, Facilities, Quality.Working Conditions
          • Works in office environment and laboratory environment.
          • Interacts with subordinate, peers, superiors, suppliers and customers on a daily basis.
