Job Description:

To qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, you must meet the following requirement: Experience: You must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) in Federal Service that equipped you with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the Medical Reimbursement Technician position. Specialized experience includes working experience in a medical billing environment of healthcare reimbursement and accounts receivables; collecting from third party insurance companies; verifying insurance coverage; and utilizing a personal computer for coding ICD-9 and CPT/4 diagnostic codes, reports and verifying claim information. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hours worked per week.
