Our office is charged with attracting, recruiting, admitting, and enrolling a talented and geographically diverse undergraduate student body. Admissions counselors in our office are recruiters, application reviewers, counselors-on-duty, and workgroup contributors. In addition to these roles, we welcome applicants who may have an interest specializing in events management, transfer, or international admissions. Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience: Successful candidates will have prior experience in college admissions or a closely related office such as campus tours, orientation, or other direct work with student outreach and enrollment. Preferably, candidates will have two or more years of related experience after their bachelor's degree is conferred. Candidates with experience evaluating applications though a holistic, selective admissions process, and/or experience recruiting undergraduate students to a four-year institution are ideal. Successful candidates will be ready to join a large, dynamic, and fast-paced office environment, and committed to contributing to a team-driven office while taking pride in the work assigned to them. Additionally, successful candidates will present the following: Demonstrated attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills. Proven ability to work with individuals of diverse racial, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds. Work experience that communicates a history of creativity, independent work, success in a team environment, and the ability to exercise sound judgment. Strong oral and written communications skills, public speaking experience, and excellent customer service skills. Strong facility with the use of computers, office software applications, and database systems. Ability to travel both locally and outside of the state. Evening and weekend work required during peak times. License or Certificate: This position involves travel. A valid driver's license is required to operate a state vehicle. Incumbents must be able to operate a state vehicle or provide his/her own transportation. Additional Information: These full-time academic staff positions are available with a desired begin date of July 15, 2019. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered, with title and salary dependent on qualifications. The minimum starting salary is $40,000.
