INFORMATION SPECIALIST Job no: 98724-AS Work type: Staff-Full Time Department: ENROLLMENTMGMT/ADMISSIONS Location: Madison Categories: Information Systems/Technology Position Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites individuals to apply for our Information Specialist position in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. Under the general supervision of the Associate Director and CRM Manager, the Information Specialist focuses on supporting and managing technical system processes that engage a wide variety of functions in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment. The Information Specialist will be a delegated administrator for cloud-based technologies, including Salesforce and Eloqua, and lead technical efforts for a large volume of outgoing communications with the additional Campus Solutions Communication Generation process. In addition, The Information Specialist will perform administrative processing, business analysis, development, and maintenance within admissions and recruitment information systems. The individual will provide solutions to business process needs by developing a full knowledge of existing applications, developing customizations, and/or suggesting product alternatives. This position will also manage system set-up and will be responsible for performing, auditing and troubleshooting system processes. Knowledge and hands-on experience with cloud-based software systems, including Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems and marketing automation systems. 2. Understanding of databases and data structures. 3. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. 4. Desire to be engaged in ongoing learning and adapt to a variety of technical systems. 5. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under deadline pressures. 6. Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users. 7. Thorough attention to details. 8. Proven self-motivator and independent learner. Preferred work experience 1. Prior technical systems experience in admissions or higher education. 2. Experience with the process of developing, testing, prototyping and implementing software. 3. Experience with business process review and improvement. 4. Experience with Visualforce, Apex, HTML, CSS, SQL or JavaScript. 5. Participation in information system upgrades and new implementations. 6. Ideal candidate will have higher education professional experience. 7. Experience with data integration tools. Additional Information: This is a full-time academic staff position available with a desired begin date of July 15, 2019. A competitive salary and benefits package will be offered, with title and salary dependent on qualifications. The minimum starting salary is $45,000.
