4-H PROGRAM COORDINATOR-RACINE COUNTY Job no: 98312-AS Work type: Staff-Full Time Department: EXT/YFCD/YTH/4H/WI 4-H Location: Racine County Categories: Event Planning, Program Coordination, Extension, Outreach, Public Engagement, Instructional, Natural Resources, Environmental Sciences Position Summary: This 4-H Program Coordinator position will primarily serve Racine County. The 4-H Program Coordinator leads and manages the full range of the 4-H Youth Development programs including clubs, after school programs, educational experiences and camps. Program Coordinators also design, deliver, and evaluate research-based educational programming and services aligned with the position's programmatic focus. Initial programming focus will include: Recruiting, training, developing, and managing volunteers focused on helping youth develop life skills that promote ongoing community involvement and strengthen youth leadership development; Expanding 4-H membership and volunteer opportunities to underserved youth and adults; Coordinating the process for youth and adult volunteer enrollment including oversight of 4-H Clubs, 4-H Groups, 4-H Leaders Associations and committees; Strengthening the 4-H program by providing leadership for marketing, communications, member recruitment and member retention; Cultivating collaborative efforts and partnerships with other organizations to expand 4-H programming opportunities. This individual will apply University of Wisconsin's research, education and outreach resources to address locally identified needs and opportunities. Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience: Required: Experience recruiting, guiding and/or supervising volunteers and or staff Ability to apply relevant policies, procedures and regulations including reporting requirements risk and data management Experience managing multiple tasks, timelines, and schedules while maintaining high quality of work Strong written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability in coordinating, conducting, and evaluating meetings and events Ability to effectively work with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socioeconomic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity Preferred: At least three years of relevant work experience such as youth programming or teaching At least one year of experience related to volunteer management Experience leading, managing and/or evaluating educational programs Experience working with young people and/or families Ability to effectively communicate with Spanish speaking populations Experience working in urban neighborhoods and communities with diverse cultural backgrounds Ability to work cooperatively with other agencies, community-based services, or organizations to address educational need Ability to communicate effectively using a variety of methods and technology Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to build and maintain professional work environments including demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts Demonstrated sensitivity to and success in working with a diverse range of individuals, groups and organizations Demonstrated experience with board leadership or development Additional Information: Please note that successful applicants are responsible for ensuring their eligibility to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the United States, a lawful permanent resident, a foreign national authorized to work in the United States without need of employer sponsorship) on or before the effective date of appointment.
