The Community Partnerships Intern provides administrative and functional support to the Community Partnerships Department. This position will support outreach efforts on campus and in the community and will also support the UW Credit Union's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, paid Volunteer Time Off benefit, and Financial Education Program. The position is at least a year-long internship and academic schedules will be taken into consideration to determine work schedule. However, the Community Partnerships Intern will be expected to work 16 - 20 hours per week with varying hours during tax season. Friday availability from 11AM - 5PM and Saturday availability from 8:30am - 4:00pm will be required starting late January through early March for approximately 5 weeks. This position must effectively carry out the essential duties of this position in a manner that consistently demonstrates the core values of the organization in a positive manner. 1) Administrative and VITA Support - 30% a. Along with Community Partnerships team, develop knowledge of basic income taxes to support UW Credit Union's VITA site as a quality reviewer for client taxes. b. Assist Community Partnerships Coordinator with volunteer management of VITA including but not limited to: training support for all volunteers, maintain volunteer schedules, support volunteer success at VITA sites, coordinate recognition for volunteers, maintain VITA sites according to IRS standards, and other tax-related duties. c. Perform administrative functions as directed including managing VITA software, volunteer coordination and communications, updates, documentation, printing/photocopying, event preparation of materials, planning for partner meetings, etc. d. Provide staff support for Community Partnerships and implement assignments as directed 2) Campus Relationship Development - 30% a. Research networking activities and events on campus for student and faculty to identify and make recommendations for partnership opportunities within the campus community b. Be a liaison and advocate for UWCU's relationship with campus partners. c. Execute on initiatives as established by cross-functional campus development team. d. Act as a representative of UW Credit Union by promoting credit union products and services. e. Help to increase UW Credit Union's image and visibility with campus-related constituents. 3) Financial Education Program Support - 20% a. Become adequately trained and knowledgeable in financial wellness topics and assist Financial Mentors with delivering financial seminars b. Participate in tabling events and meet tabling standards to promote and educate credit union products and financial education. c. Support campus branch managers across all markets in tracking financial education and assisting with projects that arise on campus and within the community. 4) Employee Community Involvement Support - 20% a. Promote employee participation in UW Credit Union's employee Volunteer Benefit by identifying volunteer opportunities for employees b. Support tracking and reporting of employee volunteer involvement. c. Under the guidance of Employee Campaign Managers, aid in developing and promoting fundraising activities during UW Credit Union's annual employee giving campaign To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate regular, predictable attendance and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience/Skills Must be part-time in school or currently enrolled (active) and have completed two semesters of coursework in an accredited college or technical school. Ability to present a professional image and represent the credit union Student in good standing with school. Excellent interpersonal skills for work with clientele, volunteers, members and partners. \ Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications, (Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Power Point & Excel). Excellent organizational skills, with ability to work independently, prioritize and manage multiple concurrent responsibilities. Ability to operate standard office equipment. Excellent spelling, grammar and written communication skills. Excellent telephone and oral communication skills.
