  • We are seeking a Registered Nurse to: Join our remarkable Medical/Surgical Float team.
  • Be part of a wide variety of high-level nursing skills such as evaluating med/surg patients, administering care, recognizing complications and coordinating with other members of the team.
  • Take part in the interpersonal communication, leadership, strategic planning, critical thinking, as well as decision-making that is a part of the Med/Surg float team.

    • Job Requirements
    • Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison.
    • Must have experience working in different Med/Surg units (cardiac, spine, neuro, surgical, etc).
    • Floating experience highly preferred.
    • Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years.
    • Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
    • Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).
      • Schedule Information
      • Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's competency skills/experience.
      • The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization.
      • During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract.

        • UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
