General Information:
Job title: CT/Radiographic Technologist
Schedule: Part-time 1, 48 hours per pay period; three, 8-hour
shifts - Mon, Wed, Thurs. (mixed day/pms)
- Must be trained or willing to train in Bone Desity/DEXA Holiday
and weekend rotation required.
Position Summary:
The Radiographic Technologist position performs professional duties
involved in a variety of technical procedures for radiologic
diagnosis and assists physicians in selection of practical
applications and technical factors.
Position Responsibilities:
- Operates radiation producing equipment including stationary,
portable, fluoroscopy and C-arm.
- Select, set, and adjust proper techniques to the patient's
physical condition, patient size, patient age, or suspected
pathology.
- Performs necessary clerical work by assuring proper scheduling,
correct exam, prior authorization, obtaining prior report/scan,
patient lab values, and review of clinic notes.
- Follows physicians' orders and radiologist protocols.
- Positions, transfers, and properly immobilizes patients as
required.
- Comforts patients by anticipating patient's anxieties;
answering patient's questions.
- Assist Radiologist and other physicians in the performance of
biopsies and interventional procedures.
- Assume responsibility for sterile technique procedure and
contrast required by radiologist.
- Assist physicians and prepare supplies and special trays.
- Monitors the condition of the patients within the department
and assists the radiologist or other provider in performing needed
medical attention such as first aid or BLS.
- Processes, views, and approves the technical quality of each
film with QA guidelines, pertinent to patient/procedures to obtain
optimal images for diagnosis.
- Exercise responsibility for the maintenance and accuracy of
facility reports, database records and logs.
- Maintains a safe and clean environment.
- Assume responsibility for proper and efficient operation of all
equipment.
- Recognizes potential equipment problems of malfunction and
notifies pertinent team members.
- Orders and maintains adequate supplies.
- Assists with orientation and ongoing education for employees,
students, and other health care professionals within the
department.
- Determines qualifications who use equipment and administer
procedures under the direction of the Radiologists.
- Perform other related duties as needed. Position Requirements:
- Two-year degree in radiography required.
- 1+ years related work experience preferred.
- Must hold and maintain AART certification.
- Must hold and maintain radiography license from the state of
Wisconsin.
- BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of
hire.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
- Maintains compliance with continuing education requirements
through professional journals, on the job training, and other
educational opportunities. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Intermediate to expert proficiency with computers is
required.
- Requires assessment, evaluation, and decision-making
skills.
- Knowledge of radiography, phlebotomy, and lab safety.
- Self-starter with excellent compassion, interpersonal
communication, oral and written communication, and problem-solving
skills.
