TEKsystems is partnering with a local organization in Wisconsin in the search for a 100% remote 3rd shift Computer Operator. This person will be responsible for monitoring a variety of batch jobs on the mainframe.

The ideal candidate will be one who has worked as a Mainframe Computer Operator on an MVS, OS/390, Z/OS system monitoring jobs, resolving job abends, modifying JCL code or at least reading it a bit to troubleshoot the abend, and using scheduling software, preferably Control-M.

Duties & Responsibilities:





+ Serve as a liaison between technical developers and production support in a client server and mainframe computer environment.



+ Perform scheduling requests and job submissions for developers and customers.



+ Monitor and analyze complex job flows between client server and mainframe.



+ Ability to identify potential or existing scheduling problems.



+ Ability to work independently, as well as with Development, TSS, and other CPS staff; strong team player.



+ Ability to work between multiple environments.



+ Provide detailed documentation of problems using Tivoli.



+ Change, update, review job documentation.



+ Perform functional testing.



+ Ability to create ChangeMan packages (mainframe).



+ Maintain best practices, perform Quality Assurance (QA) checks on all new jobs, ensuring client standards are met.



+ Ability to communicate professionally with programmers, customers, co-workers and managers.





Hours are Monday - Friday 10:30PM - 6:30AM, with backup on Sundays 6:30PM - 6:30AM.
