Our Mechanical engineers research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and improve cutting edge products and services. These cover a very wide range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft to orbital and space exploration systems. You'll conceptualize and deliver complex turbomachinery, pumps and systems and your technical duties include the design and development of new products, testing and processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Must-haves:

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience

  • Experience with turbomachinery, pumps, manufacturing and testing of these products

  • Strong knowledge of rotating machinery component design and manufacturing including turbines, impellers, cases, bearings, and seals

  • Ability to manage turbomachinery vendors

  • Knowledge on turbomachinery aerodynamic/hydrodynamic principles such as Velocity triangles, performance maps, and streamline analysis.

  • Implement propulsion subsystem design

    • Understanding of engineering principles and practices

    • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams

Preferred:

  • Experience with turbomachinery on rocket engines

  • Experience with rocket engine propellants including but not limited to both cryogenic and storeable propellants

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required. Learn more about the background check process for Security Clearances
