Our engineers with the propulsion team in Madison, WI research, design, develop, and test cutting edge propulsion products. These cover a very wide range from novel reaction control system (RCS) thrusters to large staged combustion engines for upper stage applications. Your technical duties will include the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle. We’re seeking a candidate with a strong background in propulsion development who can play a leadership role on our growing team.

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related discipline and typically 10 or more years of relevant experience in rocket propulsion

  • Understanding of rocket propulsion principles and practices

  • Familiarity with working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams


  • Knowledge of propulsion analysis tools such as CEA, TDK, RTE, and others.

  • Overall knowledge of propulsion principles and practice, including principles of thrust chamber design and a working knowledge of propulsion testing operations & facilities.

  • Overall knowledge of fabrication processes including conventional machining, welding, and additive manufacturing, among others.

  • Overall knowledge of materials selection for propulsion hardware.

  • Understanding of Engineering Simulation such as Finite Element structural analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Thermal Analysis

  • Familiarity with fluid delivery systems, including elements such as line sizing, valve selection, and pressure drop calculations.

  • Experience working directly with customers, vendors, and diverse internal teams.

  • Experience with CAD tools, SolidWorks preferred

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry
