Oakwood Village has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join our University Woods (West Side of Madison) senior living community facility team as a Life Enrichment Specialist. Our Life Enrichment Specialist provides therapeutic programs in which to encourage persons to maintain independence, develop and pursue personal interest and social interactions. The Life Enrichment Specialist position is full-time, 80 hours every two weeks and hours are generally Monday thru Friday, with some weekend and evening rotations required. Including one-on-one, small, and large group activities.* Facilitate therapeutic programs in order to maintain or increase individual functioning levels and/or interest pursuits.* Guide interested individuals to and from program locations, as necessary.* Demonstrate creativity in designing programs, to promote a variety of techniques, styles, and individual preferences.* Adapt programs to meet individual needs and/or interests. Job Qualifications of a Life Enrichment Specialist (Not intended to be an all-inclusive list) * A COTA or Recreational Therapist designation with a minimum of three years relevant experience.* Previous experience in working with the elderly and/or disabled persons is preferred.* Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations as they pertain to the areas.* Ability to recognize and understand a person's capacity for appropriate leisure/programs of varied nature and physical demand.* Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.* Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work load.* Ability to communicate effectively with the residents.* Ability to work within established policies and procedures.* Ability to work in a partnership environment which fosters effective teamwork in meeting the mission of Oakwood Village.
