Ultratec, Inc. currently has a Full Time and Permanent IT Network & Systems Administrator position located at our Ultratec, Inc. Headquarters in the University Research Park on the west side of Madison.Position Summary: The IT Network & Systems Administrator is part of the Systems Engineering team. The team is responsible for deploying, supporting and maintaining the network, compute, and storage infrastructure for Ultratec. This position is responsible for software and hardware upgrades to servers, SAN, switches, routers, firewalls and backup systems. This is a multi-disciplinary position providing support to the development, testing, operation of Ultratec's systems and products. The IT Network & Systems Administrator helps define long-term network and infrastructure design while also supporting the live environment.Essential Functions and Responsibilities: (Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time).* Support and maintain a high-availability, multi-vendor enterprise WAN for multiple locations* Deploy, configure and troubleshoot critical infrastructure such as servers, SAN, and backup appliances* Administer, update and support Ultratec's multiple data center VMware infrastructure* Manage, upgrade and administer Ultratec's on-premise Active Directory and Windows Server infrastructure * Apply patches, configure security, and handle change control in accordance with best practices.* Communicate technical information, both verbal and written, to a wide range of end-users, peers and customers.* Prepare and maintain system documentation and standards of work.Job Requirements:Required Technical Skills:* Technical training in an Information Technology related field.* 5 or more years of network and systems administration support preferred.* Broad knowledge of network and server software, hardware, and operating systems.* Expertise with Cisco equipment and technology (switching, routing, firewall, and wireless)* Expertise with industry-standard routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)* Expertise with Microsoft server products: Exchange, Active Directory, SQL, TFS, etc.* Expertise with VMware, Citrix and other data center technologies.* Experience with data center hardware (servers, SAN, fiber channel switches, etc.)* Ability to research solutions or information regarding technical issues.Required Soft Skills:* Customer service focused individual with the ability to handle customer interactions with diplomacy and tact.* Proven track record of supervision, mentorship or technical training.* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to gauge the customer's technical ability and communicate with them in an appropriate technical or non-technical language.* Must have a good command of the English language to provide effective phone, desk-side, and email support.* Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner.Physical Requirements:* Ability to lift and/or carry 15-30 lbs or more and push and pull carts when necessary.All qualified applicants will receive considerations for employment without regard to sex, race, color, national origin or ancestry, age, disability, marital/veteran/student status, physical appearance, sexual orientation, political beliefs, religion, genetic information, gender identity, a less than honorable discharge from the military, etc. and any other status protected by federal, state or local law and regulations.
