Environmental Remediation, Compliance, Health and Safety,
TRC Companies, Inc seek to fill a strategic national leadership
position within our Environmental Sector. The individual selected
for this leadership position will be responsible for the continued
growth of TRC's environmental, health and safety (EH&S)
compliance service offerings and the further
advancement/recognition of TRC in the marketplace. This is a
strategic growth role.
The EH&S Director would work across the entire Environmental
Sector in collaboration with the Sector President, National
Practice leaders and functional Directors. The EV EH&S Director
will have responsibility for the marketing, business development,
sales, and execution of EH&S services which will be delivered
by hundreds of technical, project management, and client
development personnel from the Practices and Functional groups
The EH&S Director and will be supported by technical,
project management, and client development personnel across the EV
Sector. The EH&S Director will have a few direct reports who
are senior managers and subject matter experts in key EH&S
service offerings. The EH&S Director role has specifically been
designed to minimize the direct management of personnel internally
in order to maximize the ability to focus on strategic growth and
development of services.
Position Overview/ Job Responsibilities:
Internally the EV EH&S Director would be focused on the
growth/enhancement of TRC's capabilities for delivery of the
following service areas: air permitting/consulting; EH&S
regulatory compliance support; EH&S auditing programs, EH&S
management systems, Management Information Systems, H&S
consulting, and Industrial Hygiene.
Development/maintenance of a technical skills matrix will be
utilized to identify expertise, service capabilities and areas that
require investment in additional resources to improve technical or
geographic responsiveness. Strategic recruitment and identification
of potential acquisitions will be involved.
The EV EH&S Director will lead/participate in branding,
marketing and business development programs that are focused on
these EH&S services.
Externally the EV EH&S Director must have a clear
understanding of the trends and opportunities in the marketplace
and "be the face" of TRC for these services by being active in
industry and trade associations (NAEM, etc.) with regular
presentation of professional papers/presentations. This would be
accomplished through personal involvement as well as leadership of
TRC subject matter experts for the noted service areas.
The EV EH&S Director will:
Be responsible for ongoing growth and leadership by performing
extensive client outreach and by providing direction on major
project pursuits and general marketing.
Be responsible for coordinating EH&S service offerings
across TRC's EV Sector.
Have a significant role in maintaining quality on TRC's
projects, as well as developing/maintaining training programs to
enhance the skillsets of employees to ensure projects are executed
with a high level of efficiency and technical excellence.
Possess strong verbal, written, presentation and excellent
client management skills; demonstrated ability leading and managing
complex proposals and projects; as well as being goal oriented,
quality focused, and have demonstrated success with creating and
fostering a team environment.
Requirements Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or
Environmental Science or related fields.
15+ years of experience performing and managing projects focused
on the EH&S services outlined above.
Experience managing cross disciplinary scientific and
Proven track record with successful marketing, business
development, business management and oversight of National
Strong business acumen and attributes, coupled with a commitment
to TRC Values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Creativity,
Accountability, Teamwork and Passion.
Location is flexible. This position can be based out of any TRC
office with capacity.
Master of Science Degree in Engineering or Environmental Science
25+ years of experience performing and managing projects focused
on the EH&S services outlined above.
Personal subject matter expertise and credentials (PE, CIH,
CPEA) in one or more of the EH&S services outlined above.
Demonstrated previous success with leadership/management of
similar national EH&S programs.
National recognition/reputation a plus.
TRC's key clients operate in the utility, industrial/commercial,
transportation and oil and gas market sectors. Established client
relationships managed by the candidate and experience in these
market sectors is a plus.
