Drew University seeks applications for the Director of the Drew
University Career Center . This role supports the goals,
objectives, and outcomes of Launch through their leadership and
oversight of the Center’s innovative community engagement,
immersive learning, and equitable support mechanisms for its
facilitation of students’ and alumnx’s career and professional
development. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the
Associate Provost for Immersive Learning & Career Design.
Co-develop and oversee the vision and mission of the Drew
University Career Center and lead its intentional contribution to
the Launch approach and Drew University’s mission and goals,
including a clear focus on community engagement and equitable
Initiate, develop, maintain, delegate as needed, and oversee
effective and collaborative working relationships with students,
faculty, and staff to further engage them in the preparation and
immersive learning of our new generation of leaders.
Initiate, develop, engage, and steward external constituents of
the University, including alumnx, employers, parents and family
members, and other community members, to involve them in the
innovative facilitation of immersive learning opportunities for
Lead collaboratively the innovative design, implementation, and
evaluation of the Center’s community-based, experiential
facilitation of undergraduate and graduate students’ and alumnx’s
career development curricula (e.g., meaningful decision-making,
career action planning, community engagement, network development,
experiential learning, and professional development) through robust
digital presence, scalable engagement, and community
Lead collaboratively and oversee the integration of
intercultural development content into the Center’s curriculum and
model, co-facilitate and support the Center’s focus on diversity,
equity and inclusion.
Model, oversee, and, as necessary, provide limited
career-curriculum responsive coaching, connecting, and
presentations in diverse, creative formats to assist undergraduate
and graduate students and alumnx with their career and professional
Co-lead and oversee the innovative distribution and promotion of
experiential learning opportunities and information on internships,
undergraduate research, summer jobs, on-campus or local part-time
jobs, and other experiential learning opportunities conducive to
students’ career development and preparation.
Promote pervasively the efforts of the Career Center and its
collaborative leadership of the Launch approach to all Drew
constituents through a variety of creative marketing efforts.
Co-lead the development and implementation of all necessary
office policies and procedures.
Lead the preparation of regular and needed reports, and the
strategic and systematic collection and analysis of comprehensive
participation, satisfaction, learning and impact data relevant to
the career and professional development of students and alumnx, and
the effectiveness of the efforts of the Center.
Leverage cutting-edge technology (e.g., Launchpad, Handshake,
Drew Connect) to provide increased relevance to career development
and community engagement facilitation efforts, and co-lead the
identification, promotion and administration of an effective web
presence and the right combination of technology.
Lead the development of a functional budget, supervise
expenditures, and maintain fiscal responsibility.
Supervise Career Center staff, delegate supervision as
appropriate, and supervise undergraduate and graduate student
interns or employees as needed.
Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Provost’s Office or the
Associate Provost for Immersive Learning & Career Design.
Bachelor’s degree required; master’s or Ph.D. preferred; any
A 5-year or longer record of achieving success in organizational
facilitation of career development, experiential learning, PD
training or instructional design, corporate university recruiting,
workforce initiatives, or a related field.
