Summary of Major Responsibilities The VP, Health Systems leads both the sales and marketing strategy and execution for Cologuard and future pipeline products in the organized customer channel, with health systems or integrated delivery networks (IDNs) being the primary focus. Responsible for leading an organization of field based Strategic Account Executives, National Account Managers, Health IT Leaders, as well as a marketing team focused on devising strategies and solutions to advance population health for colorectal (CRC) screening with Cologuard.

Interacts and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Market Access, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, Marketing, and Primary Care/Specialty Field Sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Define the Exact Sciences’ strategy for the advancement of population health with Cologuard among the IDN channel, as well as other organized customer efforts; including employer groups, retail channels, and large medical groups.

Build Exact Sciences’ organizational capabilities to support long term success in health systems and key organized customer channels.

Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure aligned understanding of health system strategies and the role each function must play for organizational success in the IDN channel.

Build robust organizational understanding of the IDN market in order to guide targeting, sales approach, and key performance indicators of success.

Lead health systems sales function; including the establishment of key performance indicators and incentive plans that effectively drive the most productive and impactful behaviors and business outcomes.

Develop integrated plans leveraging all relevant stakeholders required to advance and maximize IDN opportunities; including PCP/GI field sales, market access managers, and headquarter functions, such as IT.

Align and prioritize the marketing plans with marketing-based efforts and sales strategy with sales directed efforts.

Supervise staff; including, but not limited to, organize and prioritize work, write/conduct performance reviews, train/develop, and manage work performance.

Strong analytical skills.

High business acumen.

Act in a self-directed manner; acting as a change agent and as such have results orientation, with an ability to work independently and make decisions in a dynamic environment dealing with internal and external issues.

Effective presentation skills; able to present ideas and evidence-based scientific and economic data to customers in a way that produces understanding and impact.

Uphold company mission and values through accountability, innovation, integrity, quality, and teamwork.

Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures.

Regular and reliable attendance.

Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 80% of a typical working day.

Ability to travel nationally 60% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business, or related field.

12+ years of progressive responsibility within sales, marketing, or product management in industries including biotech, medical device, or pharma.

5+ years of demonstrated success in sales leadership, of either national accounts or first line leaders and ability to work across functional leadership partners to align objectives and execute business plan.

Demonstrated success in establishing a vision for a function and leading a large team in rapid and sustainable goal achievement, including the creation of new capabilities and infrastructure necessary to support.

Effective key account management skills and understanding of the technology assessment processes and appeals process within payer and provider groups.

Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage time and multiple projects, and apply strategic thinking to long-term business objectives that strongly influence national strategic/tactical plans.

Demonstrated, comprehensive understanding of healthcare industry from payer and healthcare system perspective and ability to have strategic discussions.

Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or MPH preferred.

Experience working within an institution setting and/or key account management experience working with C-Suite influencers.
