About the Team The Technology Team at SWIB is approximately 30 staff over four groups; Business Systems, Database & Development, Security and Infrastructure & Operations. These groups support, implement & development industry leading systems and platforms to support SWIBs diverse and complex set of investment portfolios and strategies. The Technology team at SWIB strives to be a trusted advisor and partner to the business that is valued as a critical contributor to SWIBs continued growth and success. We effectively leverage technology to derive the maximum value from it and achieve SWIBs business goals. We keep technology aligned with SWIBs future direction and operate SWIBs technology according to industry standards. SWIB is seeking a student intern to function as part of the Infrastructure Services team in the Information Technology division. This position is responsible for researching and resolving issues with technology systems and data delivery. The intern will work up to 40 hours per week during the summer with the possibility for 10-15 hours per week during the school year, if the selected candidate is local. Essential activities: Participate in project work related to SWIBs infrastructure and security systems including Microsoft Azure based services, Office 365 and Windows 10. Resolve issues relating to day to day operations and work with vendors as needed. Analyze problems, determine cause and initiate corrective action. Build out workflows for SWIBs ticketing and documentation system. Work effectively in a team environment to monitor, log, resolve and escalate issues with development, test, and productions servers. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with end users, vendors, and mangers. Follow the established operations procedures to ensure timely resolution or escalation of issues. Provide direct support in the day-to-day operations on applications and infrastructure technologies; duties include evaluation of system utilization, monitoring response time and primary support for detection and correction of operational problems. Coordinates and/or performs additions and changes to applications and related infrastructure technologies; includes investigation, analysis, recommendation, configuration, installation and testing of new software. Provide regular status reports and gather requirements from departments and provide input into the systems or products that are bought or built. The ideal candidate: Currently in pursuit of a bachelors or technical degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Cyber-Security, Engineering or related field. Extracurricular program participation in major-related areas. Technical skills including simple programming using Microsoft technologies. Demonstrated knowledge of Windows operating systems, virtualization systems and PowerShell. Knowledge of integration tools, techniques and languages, with a focus on Microsoft technologies. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (2 years academic or work experience with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook). Excellent problem solving/analytical skills. Strong oral and interpersonal communication skills.
