Systems Admin
Under the supervision of the IT Manager, this position will be
responsible This position is responsible for maintaining computer
systems, networks and servers. Ensures system reliability with
maintenance to existing systems and deploys new systems to improve
system efficiency.
This person will work closely with the IT Manager and staff to
solve day-to-day business problems and will have an understanding
and capability of providing support for the technical design,
implementation and support of an electronic data interchange (EDI)
for the abas-ERP EDI package.
Responsibilities include:
- Experience in multiple programming languages: Java, Groovy,
Shell Script.
- Valued experience in other languages: C, C++ Microsoft.NET,
etc.
- Experience with MySQL, Oracle.
- Experience working within Supply Chain in a distribution
environment.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, BAAN).
- Experience with report writing software (Jasper, Crystal).
- Experience with EDI projects.
- Experience working with others on the team to define
specifications, document the solution, and execute the
solution.
- Meeting internal customer expectations on project
deadlines.
- Analyze, troubleshoot and isolate issues reported by users to
maintain system efficiency.
- Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet
systems.
- Monitor networks to ensure optimized security, availability and
performance.
- Maintain data backup and recovery systems to ensure business
continuity.
- Design, document, test and modify server and computer system to
maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and
security.
- Ensure network connectivity throughout a company's LAN/WAN
infrastructure is on par with technical considerations and best
practices.
- Design and deploy networks with network address assignment,
routing table configuration.
- Configure and maintain directory services.
- Make recommendations to management for future upgrades.
- Maintain network services such as file servers, terminal
servers, VPN gateways, and firewalls.
- Administer servers, desktop/laptop/tablet computers, printers,
routers, switches, firewalls, desk phones, smartphones, software
deployment, security updates and patches.
- Maintain and support a variety of local, hosted and web-based
applications.
- Log changes made to system configuration as well as problems
reported and resolved.
- Interact with a variety of vendors providing IT-related
products and services. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science preferred or equivalent
work experience.
- 5+ year's work experience as an EDI/ERP consultant
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal
- Must have experience and understanding of supply chain in a
distribution environment. Understanding distribution or
manufacturing practices and methodologies.
- Effective problem solving, resolution skills, and ability to
exercise good judgement. Hours of Work:
- Full-time employment offering a competitive wage and full
benefits package.
- Work hours can be flexible beyond core hours; Core business
hours Mon-Fri; 8am - 5pm CST.
- Some travel may be required.
- Position is based from Beaver Dam, WI
