Job Description:
*BASIC FUNCTION*The Storeroom Porter is responsible for
receiving, storage, and inventory of all departmental supplies,
maintaining sanitation in storage areas, requisitioning items, and
transporting supplies to all areas of the department.This position
directly reports to the Executive Chef, but is also accountable to

maintains necessary food and other supplies to ensure an efficient
operation of the dining department.3. Stores food and supplies in
correct containers and in proper storage areas according to
department guidelines as indicated by non-spoilage of food.4.
Maintains daily records and logs documenting storage temperatures
of perishable food items.5. Dates, labels, and rotates stock
according to procedures as indicated by oldest products being used
first.6. Orders food and supplies based upon product specification
as established by Oakwood ordering protocols and procedures.7.
Secures designated areas of potential theft, dangerous chemicals,
supplies, and equipment to safeguard employees.8. Transports food
and supplies in appropriate containers as indicated by food or
supplies arriving safely and intact.9. Follows HACCP guidelines
when receiving and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and
safety of food supply.10. Follows all security procedures regarding
the storeroom organization.11. Complies with federal, state, and
departmental health and sanitation regulations and department
sanitation procedures.12. Maintains a clean and sanitary working
environment in all areas.13. Reports needed maintenance or repairs
of equipment to the Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef.14. Completes
all daily, weekly, and monthly reports as outlined in the corporate
policies and procedures in a timely manner, meeting all prescribed
deadlines.15. Identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals following
directions recommended by manufacturers and MSDS guidelines.16.
Utilizes equipment in performing job functions according to
department safety procedures.17. Follows facility, department, and
Oakwood safety policies and procedures including incident
reporting.18. Follows facility and departmental infection control
policies and procedures.19. Follows the facility's protocols for
Hazardous Materials and Waste Program.20. Adheres to Emergency
Preparedness Program. Participates in disaster drills as
appropriate. Responsible for maintaining emergency supplies and
product rotation.21. Responds to utility failures following
department guidelines.22. Communicates any resident- or
customer-related problems to appropriate personnel.23. Participates
and attends departmental meetings and staff development in-services
as appropriate.24. Performs other related duties as
assigned.*QUALIFICATIONS*1. Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor
and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, residents,
visitors and vendors.2. Knowledge of quantity food production.3.
Ability to plan, prioritize and organize work.4. Ability to
communicate effectively with residents and staff members.5. Ability
to work within established policies and procedures.6. Ability to
provide leadership that fosters a team approach in meeting the
mission of Oakwood.7. Must be willing to accept a weekend and
holiday work schedule and occasional overtimes.*EXPERIENCE,
EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING*1. Two to three years of relatable
experience required.2. High school education or equivalent
