Job Description:

Encompass Health's Van Matre Rehabilitation Hospital seeks a dedicated Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team. Located in a facility known for its advanced technology and high-quality care, we are focused on providing customized treatment plans designed to enhance the recovery of our patients. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will work directly under the supervision of our occupational therapists to support patient care objectives, carry out specific procedures, and document patient responses to therapy. This role demands a compassionate individual eager to support therapeutic activities and contribute to our patients' rehabilitation journey. Assist occupational therapists in the treatment of patients. Help patients use therapeutic equipment, like walkers or wheelchairs, and educate them in their use. Monitor and record the patient's progress and adapt treatments as necessary. Educate patients and families on post-hospital care programs. Maintain equipment and ensure that treatment spaces are clean and organized. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Good physical stamina and the ability to assist patients physically. Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the NBCOT (National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy). Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of practice.
