Shift: 8hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 40 Experience: 2 Years
License: RN Certifications: BLS Surgical Assistant from a
recognized certifying body Must-Have: Neuro/ENT Spine Surgeries:
Laminectomies, ALIFs, Fusions & Discectomies Cranial Surgeries:
Tumors, AVMs/Aneurysms, VP shunts, Subdural, EVDs (does not need to
know how to set the system up) ENT: Neck dissections with flaps,
Sinus Surgery (Stealth Navigation), Basic ENT (Tonsils),
Tympanoplasty, Cochlear (not required) Navigation: Medtronic
(Cranial & Spine), Medtronic Stealth (ENT), Stryker & Synaptive
Navigation (Cranial) Orthopedic Procedures: Fractures, Anterior
Hips, Total Knees, Posterior Hips, Ortho Spine (Laminectomy, ALIF,
PLIF, Discectomies), Hand, Bone/Soft Tissue Sarcomas, Foot/Ankle,
Total Shoulders, Arthroscopy (Shoulder, knee, ankle, wrist)
Description: The role involves assisting in surgical procedures
within neuro and orthopedic specialties. Experience in specialized
cases is essential. Specific neuro and orthopedic surgical skills
are required, as detailed under Must-Have. Assistance with surgical
positioning and use of specific equipment and tables is necessary.
Familiarity with a range of surgical procedures and technologies is
expected. Team support involves collaboration with charge nurse,
leads, and supervisors. Charting uses an electronic system.
Cross-training to related specialties may be required. Weekend and
holiday scheduling may be involved. On-call availability is
expected, with a quick response time. Appropriate surgical attire
is provided. Food services are available on the premises. No call
