Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 02/09/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel Job Title: RN - PICU Facility: UW Health American Family Children’s Hospital Shift: Day, 3x12-Hour (07:00 AM – 07:30 PM) Start Date: 09/02/2026 Assignment Length: 13 Weeks (until 11/05/2026) Certifications and Licenses: - Wisconsin Registered Nurse License OR Compact License from your permanent address state (required) - BLS certification through American Heart Association (required) - PALS certification through American Heart Association (required) - Basic Arrhythmia experience is essential; candidate must pass telemetry test prior to starting Qualifications and Experience: - Minimum of 3 years of recent acute care experience within the past 3 years; first-time travelers with 3 years in high-acuity hospital settings are welcome - Strong Pediatric ICU experience and general cardiac experience are mandatory - Experience with EPIC electronic medical records - must be current within the past 12 months - Demonstrated proficiency in managing complex pediatric cases such as head injuries, neurological disorders, pulmonary diseases, cardiac anomalies, organ transplantation, Multi-System Organ Failure, and ECMO - Telemetry experience, including basic arrhythmia management, is required - Ability to work independently and adapt to unit needs; flexibility in floating to other units within the organization Preferred Education: - Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is preferred Additional Details: - Location: American Family Children’s Hospital, 1675 Highland Ave, Madison, WI 53792 - Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation; other options include bus, park & ride, or private parking - Travel/Assignment Requirements: Must reside within 50 miles of the hospital; floating to different units is possible based on staffing needs Why Join Us: Join a nationally recognized pediatric hospital known for its expert care, warm healing environment, and commitment to family-centered care.
