Job Description:
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty:
Med/Surg Float Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12
Experience: Must have two years of acute care experience within the
last three years. Experience working in different Med/Surg units
(cardiac, spine, neuro) is required. Floating experience is
preferred. Epic experience is preferred within the last 12 months.
License: Must have a nursing license from the permanent address
state or a compact license. Certifications: Basic Life Support
(BLS) certification must be through the American Heart Association.
Basic Arrhythmia experience is required. Must-Have: Traveler must
pass Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Candidate must
be willing to float to multiple units as needed. Description: This
position involves floating across multiple departments and
specialties. You will care for complex and dynamic patient
populations in various medical and surgical general care units.
High-quality, evidence-based care will be provided while utilizing
critical thinking skills to evaluate and assess patients.
Recognition and escalation of complications must be demonstrated.
Nursing interventions should be administered while showcasing a
commitment to patient and family-centered nursing care.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses,
nursing assistants, and medical teams, will be involved. You will
have opportunities to serve as a mentor and role model.
Participation in strategic planning efforts, quality improvement,
and Shared Governance will be encouraged. The facility requires
that travelers may need to float to other departments based on
current staffing needs. Effective interpersonal communication
skills and task delegation will be essential.
