Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: CVICU experience required. Experience with NextStage CVVH machine required. Experience in a Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable area preferred. Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last three years. License: Traveler must have a valid nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications must be through the American Heart Association only. Must-Have: Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Description: Join the Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplant team to provide high-quality care to patients on this acuity adaptable unit. Ensure care is delivered with a combination of technological expertise and a positive commitment to meeting patient and family needs. Be an integral part of a team that provides care for patients requiring specialized care for cardiac and thoracic surgeries and procedures, heart and/or lung transplants, and various medical devices. Travelers may be scheduled in multiple units depending on current staffing needs. If the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit to complete the contract. Floating is required, with travelers being the first to float. Orientation is typically about one week and schedules may vary based on department needs. Pass/Fail testing is required with strict passing criteria. A telemetry exam will be required prior to start. Travelers will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam. If the individual does not pass on the second attempt, their contract may be canceled. If the traveler fails the second attempt, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course is required before a third attempt is assigned. Travelers need to have an active telemetry competency on file per calendar year.
