Job Description:
- Certification Details
- Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from
their permanent address state.
- BLS must be certified through American Heart Association
ONLY
- Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
- Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test
prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions).
- Job Details
- Traveler must include and/meet all minimum requirements below
to be consider.
- Do not submit candidates who have or will have expiring
licenses and/or certifications during time frame of entire
assignment. Candidates will automatically be declined.
- Only submit profile who can work schedule in posting and
interested in the unit.
- Nurses on this 28-bed unit meet the daily challenges of caring
for patients with a wide array of medical conditions.
- Nurses on F6/5 have a unique opportunity to work within a
collaborative framework with the interdisciplinary team.
- Discharge planning is an important component of the patient's
care; nurses collaborate daily with case managers, social workers,
pharmacists, and therapists to develop individual patient care
plans.
- F6/5 provides a professional and stimulating environment where
critical thinking, problem solving and attaining new knowledge and
nursing skills among a very supportive staff is fostered.
- Job Requirements
- Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience
within last 3 years.
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma
center or similar size hospital.
- Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks).
- Schedule Information
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with
children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the traveler's
competency skills/experience.
- The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units,
depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations
within the organization.
- During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer
has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to
complete contract.
- Unit Specific Information
- Patients often have multiple diagnoses including, but not
limited to, pneumonia, COPD, CHF, acute and chronic renal failure,
cellulitis, gastrointestinal bleeds, acute and chronic liver
failure, diseases of addiction, and diabetes mellitus.
- F6/5 is University Hospitals designated Special Pathogens unit
if the need arises.
- There is a keen awareness of the psychosocial issues faced by
patients and families as they cope with new diagnoses and chronic
illnesses.
- Additional Details
- UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for
Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
