LGC Genomics is looking for a highly driven, customer-focused, and entrepreneurial life sciences professional to join its team as Product Manager, Custom Solutions. The Product Manager will serve as the conduit between our customers and our operations teams to enable commercialization of custom and configurable reagents and components. As a member of our global product management team, this individual will bring a strong orientation towards customer relationship management, process development, and project management. Key duties include planning and executing the product portfolio pipeline, developing scalable processes to efficiently deliver customized products to customers, and commercial opportunity development and support. Other critical elements of the role include: full product life cycle management, serving as the Marketing Representative on cross-functional product development teams, and defining our value propositions for compelling positioning in key customer workflows.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following essential functions satisfactorily:

  • Drive and own revenue, margin, customer satisfaction, and market share objectives of specific portfolio within business team
  • Distil competitive and market insights into a multi-year product roadmap, in partnership with Marketing colleagues, and guide fiscal planning for future positioning, growth, and evolution of product platforms
  • Conducts portfolio analysis and monitor revenues and wins/losses for the assigned product lines
  • Serve as the business partner for capability and operational delivery development within the portfolio
  • In close partnership with Commercial and Sales team members, develop user requirements and appropriate custom solutions that satisfy customer needs and position the product portfolio effectively
  • Review and implement annually pricing strategy for the portfolio
  • Perform monthly/quarterly market analysis to monitor industry trends and competitive landscape
  • Own internal and external communication for the product positioning for the portfolio; focusing on product features and their benefits; deliver training and tools to our sales teams
  • Create compelling value propositions that are translated into product marketing collateral and content that stimulate demand and customer loyalty
  • Manage product master data and ensure data quality and consistency for the portfolio; work effectively with E-commerce to build integrated custom solutions pages

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in a life sciences discipline (graduate degree in related discipline preferred)
    • 5 or more years' experience in regional marketing, product marketing, and/or product management of products in the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or medical device industries
    • Technical competency to understand and to clearly discuss fundamental theory and principles of experimental design and scientific techniques; ability to stay current in technical knowledge
    • Proven experience building product roadmaps and an understanding of product life cycle management and its application to product portfolio
    • Proven ability to perform situational assessment, conduct voice of customer, synthesise and interpret implications to communicate strategy against growth objectives.
    • Demonstrated experience with new product development process, including product launch and commercialization
    • Proven, effective time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to travel nationally and internationally. Travel required -20%.
    • Strong computer skills required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

      Preferred Qualifications:
      • Prior experience with CRM (SalesForce.com) or marketing automation software (Pardot)
      • Prior project management experience highly desirable to navigate cross-functional workflows and ensure close customer support
      • Knowledge of manufacturing process, inventory management, and distribution logistics preferred
      • Product knowledge and commercial experience with life science products for nucleic acid extraction/purification, PCR, qPCR & NGS workflows, as well as experience marketing into regulated markets (i.e. diagnostic kit manufacturers)
