Job Description Position Summary: The Assistant Front Desk Manager is responsible for assisting the Front Desk Manager with back of house tasks including recruitment, annual reviews, training, communication, and special projects. Step in to assist with day-to-day operations when needed and assist Front Desk Supervisors where needed. The role maintains a thorough knowledge of Sand Valley and its amenities. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee all office operations in the absence of the Front Desk Manager Supervision of front desk personnel, including supervisors, agents, night audit, and security staff Inventory of front desk amenities and fire making supplies to ensure we are always well stocked Train and lead front desk staff to ensure they are mentored, supported, and empowered to always provide the highest quality of service Communicate existing and new hotel policies to current front desk personnel Weekly audit of the shift reports saved within Google document Audit guest billing for golf and lodging daily Demonstrate a calm and professional manner under the pressure of competing priorities Ensure all guest concerns are followed up on quickly, efficiently, courteously, and addressed to the satisfaction of the guests Ensure front desk area is well-maintained: clean, neat, safe, and secure Enforces all cash handling and credit card processes When needed, assist with recruitment of new front desk personnel Assist with the development of team meetings to create a greater level of communication Manage difficult or sensitive situations effectively and with confidentiality Ensure all staff remain up to date and familiar with procedures, activities on resort, local attractions, and current events in order to provide accurate information during guest interactions Review activities and reports developed by the night audit team Perform additional tasks as assigned by management Qualifications: High School Diploma Supervisory and/or management experience preferred Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel Working knowledge of Visual One and Golf Pro is preferred Quality written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated ability and desire to manage and train a team which maintaining office harmony and high morale Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations Supervises: Front Desk Supervisors, Night Audit, Agents, Security Working Conditions: Work hours may include days and evenings on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement weather, potentially dangerous chemicals, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed. Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to: Read and write (English) Strong written and verbal communication skills with staff members and/or guests Perform mathematical calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages Retrieve, read, and interpret information from technical sources Stand, sit, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, bend and kneel for up to 5 hours at a time Lift up to 30 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly Classification: Full-Time, Regular, Salaried, Exempt Sand Valley LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer
