Development Director Full time/salaried At Heartland Farm
Sanctuary, our mission is to inspire compassion for all beings. We
provide specialized care to rescued farm animals, offer inclusive
humane education programs for learners of all ages, and provide
experiential therapy to ensure the Heartland community is
accessible for everyone. Our sanctuary is a safe, welcoming space
where people and rescued farm animals come together to experience
growth, healing and connection. How You Will Make a Difference:As
Development Director you are responsible for the majority of
Heartland's vital revenue streams, which allow our growing
organization to achieve our mission and maximize our compassionate
impact in the community. You will steward and cultivate new and
existing donor relationships, plan and organize fundraising
activities, manage the development budget and work with the
Executive Director and Board of Directors to raise funds to meet
Heartland's annual philanthropic goals. The Development Director
will be responsible for: --- Developing and executing Heartland's
annual fundraising plan with the goal of raising over $500,000
annually with the capacity to grow year over year. --- Planning,
writing, directing, and coordinating all development activities,
including direct mail appeals, e-appeals, direct gift
solicitations, and fundraising/cultivation events. --- Helping our
current donors accomplish their philanthropic goals and ambitions
through a relationship with Heartland. --- Researching and
identifying donor prospects on the individual, corporate, and
foundation levels. --- Developing and tracking proposals, grants
and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising. ---
Managing systems and software (currently DonorPerfect Online) to
track and cultivate donors and prospects and overseeing staff
responsible for data entry and gift processing. --- Partnering with
the Executive Director and Board of Directors on a $5M Capital
Campaign, including strategy development, assisting with prospect
lists, developing cultivation plans, preparing and providing
support to staff and board members. --- Scheduling and attending
donor meetings for the Executive Director and board members. ---
Making direct, face-to-face solicitations to secure financial
support from individuals, foundations and corporations. ---
Generating new ideas that increase revenue and donor retention. Who
we are looking for: The Development Director must have: --- A
strong commitment to the mission and values of Heartland Farm
Sanctuary. --- 2 to 5 years of fundraising experience (securing
major gifts, cultivating individual donors and increasing support
from existing donors). Specific experience with capital campaigns
is a plus but not mandatory. --- Strong verbal communication skills
and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively. ---
High degree of initiative, flexibility, growth mindset, attention
to detail and commitment to teamwork. --- Excellent organizational
skills and ability to initiate, sustain and monitor multiple
tasks/projects and see them through to a successful conclusion. ---
Fundraising and donor management software experience preferred. ---
Strong partnership-building and event planning skills. --- Ability
to work independently while supporting a larger team effort. ---
Reliable transportation to the sanctuary in Stoughton. We strongly

Details Compensation: $50,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience.
Reports to: Executive Director Bonuses: Unlimited goat and sheep
snuggles, plenty of peaceful pasture time with the llamas, and
witnessing hilarious antics from ALL our rescued animals. Please
