Job Description:

• Leads the District's special education programs through planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of appropriate educational and support programs and personnel in accordance with Board policy.
• Serves as the leader for professional staff as it relates to special education initiatives.
• Plans, coordinates, implements, and evaluates the daily operations of special education services ensuring that the programs remain in compliance with state and federal law and follow best practices.
• Works closely with the Director of Student Services and building principals in the supervision and evaluation of staff.
• Provides students a seamlessly integrated learning program with high standards by ensuring coordination between staff, programs, schools and relevant community agencies.
• Reports to the Superintendent.
  Qualifications:
  • Master's or advanced degree.
  • Current licensure as Director of Special Education/Pupil Services by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
  • Current licensure as Special Education Teacher, Student Services, or Pupil Services by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
  • Three (3) years experience in special education, student or pupil services or related field.
  • Prior administrative and/or leadership experience required.
