Location Information Five Star Senior Living seeks individuals who

lifestyle of seniors. We are looking for an experienced Human
Resources Manager with multi site experience to oversee the HR
needs in our WI and IN communities. Our ideal candidate will live
in WI Key Responsibilities Job Summary: Serve as the HR
Representative and primary HR support for a designated region
within the states of WI and IN. Must work collaboratively with the
Regional Director of Operations and the Regional Team to identify
and fulfill regional goals and corporate HR initiatives through the
HR role. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this

essential functions of the position. Administrative Functions: *
Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating and
directing the HR programs in the Region, to align with the overall
corporate HR initiatives. * Consult with the RDO and location
managers concerning the staffing of communities
eliminating/correcting problem areas and improvement of services. *
Promote and communicate best practices in human resources including
recruitment, selection, engagement and retention. * Orient new
leadership personnel to HR function and explain HR policies,
procedures, benefits, employee relations, etc., as established in
our operational policies and procedures. * Maintain confidentiality
of all pertinent HR information in accordance with, HIPAA and other
Federal and State privacy laws, as well as our established HR and
Company policies governing confidential information. * Represent
the Region/Division at and participate in top level meetings as
directed. * Keep leadership staff informed of changes in HR
matters. * Assist in developing and implementing HR policies. *
Review benefits programs, to include 401k, health/life insurance
programs, make recommendations to the Divisional Director of HR and
the Director of Compensation and Benefits. Assist with program
changes, open enrollments and overall communications for effective
employee relations. * Assist in standardizing the methods in which
work will be accomplished. * Coordinate Affirmative Action
Plans/Programs as necessary or required. * Responsible for other
related duties that may become necessary or appropriate to assure
that communities are in compliance with current laws, regulations,
and guidelines concerning the operation of the communities.
Personnel Functions * Provide advice on the recruitment, selection
and training of competent staff. * Assure that staff is hired in
accordance with established hiring practices. * Review the hiring,
on-boarding and change process to assure that communities process
all newly hired personnel and all change of status data
efficiently. * Assure the use of written Five Star job descriptions
and performance appraisals for each staff position are in
accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, OSHA, and
other pertinent laws governing job positions. * Assist with
development and recommendations related to wage and salary
adjustments, hiring, terminations, transfers, layoffs, etc. *
Interpret HR policies and procedures to employees, managers and
others as necessary or required. * Ensure that employee complaints
are reviewed and followed up on in accordance with our established
policies. Review complaints and make oral/written reports to the
RDO or appropriate party. * Implement and analyze the results from
exit interviews and apply that analysis to turnover and retention
concerns * Administer employee satisfaction surveys or employee
focus groups as identified. Coordinate response action plan and
monitoring with regional leadership. Monitor trends and make
recommendations to assist with effective employee relations.. Audit
Functions * Conduct community HR file audits to ensure that
appropriate documentation concerning the employee s right to work
in the country is verified in accordance with current laws,
regulations, and guidelines concerning such matters (i.e. I-9 Form
processing), and that appropriate documentation of such review is
filed within the specified time frame * Complete on-site audits of
employee HR files. * Audit license and credentialing process to
assure that communities are in compliance with federal, state and
company processes. Staff Development * Meet with location managers
on a regularly scheduled basis, to assist in planning in-service
leadership classes, on-the-job training procedures, and orientation
for new leadership staff. * Develop and provide leadership
education to meet the needs for the region and communities in
conjunction with identified needs and/or company leadership
objectives Health and Safety * Responsible for the Return to Work
and Transitional Return to Work programs within the assigned
region. * Participate in Workers Compensation Program by reviewing
overall claims reports provided by corporate, maintaining awareness
of loss trends and high-frequency locations, as identified by
corporate and maintaining compliance with the company Workers
Compensation policies and procedures * Emphasize while visiting
that all community personnel, residents, visitors, etc., follow
established safety regulations, to include fire
protection/prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc
Resident Rights * Maintain confidentiality of all resident
information. * Ensure that the resident s rights to fair and
equitable treatment, self determination, individuality, privacy,
property and civil rights, including the right to lodge complaints,
are maintained at all times. Other Responsibilities * Serve on
various committees/task forces as assigned. * Support and provide
back-up for other members of the Human Resources team, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience: College Degree in
Human Resources (HR) or a related field. Must have a minimum of ten
(10) years experience in Human Resources with five (5) years of HR
management with a large employee population responsible for a
multi-locations. Requires solid knowledge of current employment
laws, regulations and guidelines concerning HR in a health care
environment. Experience in senior living or healthcare highly
desired. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: PHR or SPHR
certification desired. Minimum Qualifications: Excellent conflict
management skills and the demonstrated ability to problem solve and
effectively diffuse highly-charged situations. Ability to
communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
