Work Mode: OnsiteLocation: Kohler, WIOpportunityThe Test Engineer position will support the development and testing of generators / engines globally. The position will own test systems, processes, and data integrity related to product testing. They will work closely with NPD Engineers to develop test plans, evaluate / approve projected test time, evaluate test risk, and develop non-standard testing. The Test Engineer will work with the Lab Managers globally to continuously improve and meet the demands of NPD, as well as the Engineering Team.Specific Responsibilities:Analyze current technologies used to support product validation and develop necessary steps or processes to improve testing.Test Process Owner: Identifies and evaluates processes and work instructions to improve efficiency.Assist with the development and review of work instructions to enable engineering technicians to perform accurate testing.First point of contact for test system and equipment problems to minimize downtime and meet test timelines.Improve automated test and data acquisition systems to meet specified product test requirements.Data analysis, test report review/approval; ensure we are providingEngineers with the information they need to make product decisions.Review and approve test plans with NPD Engineers and Lab Supervisor.Facilitate planning involved with non-standard testing (never been done before) [Sensors/DataAnalysis/Modbus/CAN/Flexlogger-NI/LabView-NI/Dewesoft/MATLAB/ISO]Coach and mentor Technicians by strengthening technical skills and ability to effectively utilize test systems.Primary resource for NPD Engineers and Technicians to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product testing.Work with Test Labs Globally to harmonize test processes, strategy, and equipment.Skills/RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. Advanced degree a plusMinimum 3-5 years of experience in a testing environmentBasic understanding of generators, large gaseous and diesel engines, electrical/electronic systems in consideration with current and future test system developmentFamiliarity with analysis tools (Oscilloscopes, Power Analyzers)Experience with computer-based data acquisition systems; LabView, MATLAB, DEWESoft, VBS scripting, and automated data reportingPassionate and highly involved in continuous improvement as it relates to his roleAbility to work in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to set priorities to meet business needsAbility to drive resolution of complex technical issues, minimizing delays to projects and business goalsCritical thinker and problem-solving skillsTeam playerGood time-management skillsGreat interpersonal and communication skills#LI-OnsiteApplicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.Why Work at Kohler Co.?Kohler Co.'s mission is to contribute to a higher level of gracious living for those who are touched by our products and services.
