Then come join us! Position Summary: Trek Bicycle is looking for an experienced Connected Product Technical Architect to be the subject matter expert for Connected Product architecture. This position involves working with peers to analyze business strategy and trends in the connected product space to derive current and future state technology architecture. Once established, this position will maintain a technical evergreen roadmap to not only illustrate Trek's current connected product trajectories, but also the potential future connected product trajectories. • Define the requirements, principles, and models that guide technology decisions around product vision set by the product owner
• Analyze the technology industry and market trends to determine their potential impact on connected product as well as the enterprise technology architecture
• Be able to describe the current state of the art in connected product as well as the state of the past art.
• Support agile teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impacts, and risks while considering technical and architectural debt
• Create clear artifacts and encourage software & hardware engineers to do the same
• Be able to clearly articulate the cost (infrastructure, operations, design, development, etc) of solutions
• Understand the nuance around personal privacy and data ownership, and will express those nuances in system designs and discussions
• Be able to regularly context switch between current and future initiatives
• Approach problems with curiosity and humility
• Execute even when there is ambiguity and/or limited information
• Be a focused and self-motivated team player that is comfortable working under pressure Position Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of 5 years of design and implementation experience in IT
  • Experience, ideally professional, in the connected product space
  • A deep knowledge of:
    • Application Development (Azure Mobile Services or AWS Mobile Hub)
    • Application Programing Interfaces (RESTFUL APIs)
    • Cloud Technologies (Microsoft Azure, etc)
    • Database Management (DB2, MySQL, SQL Server, and/or Oracle)
    • Identity Management (SAP Customer Data Cloud or Microsoft Identity Server)
    • Clustering Technologies (Kubernetes, SaltStack, Amazon Elastic Container Service, Docker,etc)
    • IOT Transport Layer Protocols (Cat M1, Bluetooth/BLE, 4G/5G, Wifi)
    • IOT Multilayer Frameworks – (IEEE P2413, IOTivity, ALLjoyn, Azure IOT Hub)
    • Security Protocols (OAuth2, HTTPS, etc)
      • Experience with HTML5, CSS 3.0, BootStrap, JavaScript, JQuery, Vue.js, AngularJS
      • Experience delivering presentations to senior level executives and technical audiences
      • Experience with Android/iOS development and service consumption
      • Experience with embedded software is a plus
      • Ability to command respect and authority while communicating with clarity and precision at all levels
      • A good understanding of product lifecycle management, agile principles, and development methodologies
      • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
