TES is an equal opportunity employer.-- Job Description Thinkpath Engineering Services (TES) is recruiting for a Packaging Engineer to fill a direct position located in Madison , IN. Job Summary : Creates change orders for changes to exi stin g packaging designs and creates packaging designs for new products. This position reports directly to the Aftermarket Group Manager. Essential Functions :

• -- Creates Engineering Change Orders for changes to exi stin g packaging designs.
• -- Creates packaging designs for new product.
• -- Generates costs for new product packaging.
• -- Submits and implements cost reductions on exi stin g product.
• -- Supports factory personnel with packaging issues and new products.
• -- Creates timelines for completion of new packaging designs.
• -- Creates new designs to be tooled and manufactured.
• -- Advises internal and external customers on proper packaging design.
• -- Coordinates sampling and te stin g of new designs with purchasing and outside vendors.
• -- Evaluates specifications required for package designs.
• -- Generates presentations on new packaging. Additional Responsibilities :
  • -- Updates external and internal personnel on project status.
  • -- Communicates with Sales & Marketing personnel via e-mail on project requirements.
  • -- Communicates with Purchasing, NPI Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, and plant personnel on successful implementation of new packaging designs.
  • -- Discusses new designs with vendors and customers.
  • -- Uses AS400 to evaluate bills of materials, routing, etc.
  • -- Required to follow any other instructions and to perform any other duties as requested by supervisor. Skills and Education Required:
    • -- 4 year Bachelor of Science degree in Packaging or 2 year degree and equivalent experience.
    • -- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software products.
    • -- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
    • -- Working knowledge of Packaging software and how to create drawings.
