Smart Solutions is looking for an End Point Engineer for a direct-hire position in beautiful Madison, WI. The End Point Engineer is responsible for developing, deploying, testing, and supporting all user endpoint devices, including desktops, laptops, thin clients, Chromebooks, tablets, and creating application packages, maintaining and deploying client OS images. This role will need to work in on-call rotation. Right now, this position is remote with occasional onsite work. This team is looking for someone who likes to add value, is honest, and works independently. Top Needed Skills and Experience: * Deployment and testing* SCCM* Landesk - Avanti* Packaging* Virtual Desktop* Office 365* Adobe Cloud Suites* Customer serviceSupport and Duties Snapshot: * Management of Microsoft application servers and related systems* Secondary responsibilities include firmware and patch management for desktops, laptops, and printers* May be called on to supplement helpdesk staff for advanced troubleshooting and training* Will work cooperatively with teammates to ensure the proper and efficient operations of IT systems for the organization* Will require some after hours monitoring and response for service outages and alerts. * Will participate in the infrastructure team on-call procedureResponsibilities: * Provide technical services, support, and maintenance for the organization's applications and images and associated servers and server infrastructure* Design and support application packages under the guidance of the Lead Systems Engineer* Create, update, and support workstation images while utilizing best practices by following company standards* Research, test, and deploy new versions, patches, and fixes for applications to mitigate risk before production implementation* Lead in the delivery of platform images and applications for servers and end-user devices* Initiate technical services and consultation with vendors for various application/image initiatives along with problem-solving* Design and propose input and suggestions for various image/application deployment initiatives using best-practices and a reliable project methodology* Maintain licensing of the organization's software to ensure full compliance with copyright laws and other legal obligations* Recommend the selection of utilities and applications best to meet business requirements * Administer, coordinate, and perform system administration for Windows Server and desktop platforms as well as any other technologies that are supported by the organization* Provide technical support and maintenance for the Microsoft Active Directory, and Enterprise Anti-virus/spam* Configure, troubleshoot and maintain Active Directory; define and setup user accounts and security; create and maintain network volume and directory structure within Active Directory, including working in coordination with other technical staff to perform these duties* Administer the enterprise anti-virus and anti-spam operations to ensure adequate prevention and covers all of the organization's systems and data* Maintain hardware, firmware, and software patches to ensure a stable computer platformAdditional Duties: * Provide technical support coordination and administration function* Develop and maintain strong communications and status reporting of project activities to management and other teams, including meticulous documentation* Establish and document technology standards by following industry standards* Make recommendations to management for improvements on specific processes utilizing current or new technology regarding imaging and application packaging/deployment* Utilize the Change Management process to manage network changes and minimize the impact on the customer* Consult with systems engineers and vendors to investigate and resolve complex server/network problems* Evaluate proposals for technical and customer-driven projects and make suggestions* Fully document system configurations and install and support procedures* Manage, configure, and troubleshoot printers and printer mappings* Administer print management system and utilize vendor when necessary.* Participate in the "on-call" rotation process* Provide support for the Help Desk service and operations* Install, configure, and maintain end-user hardware devices such as laptops, desktops, and printers * Provide Tier 2 and 3 support for the Help Desk service and operations* Utilize the Helpdesk ticket application to provide complete, accurate, and timely documentation of all troubleshooting processes, status reporting on assigned work orders* Promptly research, document, and report hardware/software failures to the vendor support representative* Maintain and document equipment inventories* Maintain logs of equipment configurations and repairs* Lead-in activities that provide continued up-to-date knowledge of application technology* Provide knowledge transfer and training for staff, as needed* Actively participate in staff meetings and college engagement activitiesQualifications and Knowledge: * Associate Degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience* 2+years of deploying and supporting Windows Desktop Operating systems* 2+ years of deploying and patching applications in an enterprise environment such as; MS Office 365, Adobe, and SolidWorks* 2+ years using automated deployment systems such as SCCM/LANDesk* 2+ years scripting using Batch, PowerShell, and VBScript* Solid interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills* Experience working with confidential and sensitive information* Functional understanding of the project management process* Robust documentation and communication skills* Steadfast problem-solving skillsDesired Skills: * 2+ years working with Windows Servers * Technical certificationsMadison is home to the Wisconsin Badgers and consistently ranked as one of the best cities to live, work, and play!
