Together, these institutions are a tremendous academic, cultural, and economic resource for Wisconsin, the nation, and the world.The Office of Educational Opportunity connects students, families, professional educators, and community leaders with opportunities to create, operate, and be a part of public charter schools that meet local needs, interests, and demands for 4K-12 education all across Wisconsin.Major ResponsibilitiesThis position is a half-time, two year appointment OEO staff member with a specific focus on special education compliance to ensure that OEO-authorized schools are meeting their contractual obligations related to state and federal IDEA law. This position will require implementing and carrying out the various consultation models. The position will require the independent review of Special Education files from differing eligibility categories and the ability to identify any errors and make recommendations around corrective measures to be taken so that all specially designed instruction is documented properly, designed to truly meet the needs of the student, and carried out to fidelity. Minimum QualificationsTo be considered for this position, applicants must have:Director of Special Education or Pupil Services License or Cross Categorial Special Education Teacher LicenseAt least 3 years of experience specifically in K-12 Special EducationSkilled in reviewing IEP and 504 PlansStrong knowledge of IDEAExcellent organizational skillsAbility to multi-task without sacrificing accuracyStrong written and verbal communications skillsSkilled in preparing and conducting meaningful trainingsAbility to navigate challenging situations and mitigate concerns from a variety of stakeholdersPreferred QualificationsAt least 3 years of experience serving as a Director of Special Education/Pupil Services Conditions of EmploymentThis position is a half-time, salaried (exempt) Academic Staff Appointment. Well-qualified candidates can expect a starting annual salary within a range of $56,250 to $66,250 annual (which will be pro-rated on a half-time basis), commensurate with the candidate's education, related experience, and qualifications.
