Non-Production \n \n Why This Role Exists\n This role exists to
support product engineering, prototyping, and R&D efforts
within Nidec’s Engineering Lab. Rather than running production,
this machinist plays a hands-on role in developing, refining, and
validating machining processes for gearboxes and motor components .
\n You’ll work directly with engineers, contribute to
problem-solving discussions, and help shape how prototype parts are
machined — making this an ideal role for a machinist who enjoys
variety, ownership, and technical collaboration . \n \n The Work
You’ll Be Doing\n In this role, you will: \n \n Take ownership of
machining projects from planning through completion \n Set up,
program, and operate CNC and manual machines \n Machine prototype
components, gears, and tooling to tight tolerances \n Read and
interpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications \n
Hob and inspect gears and pinions using proper tooling and
metrology \n Create and modify CNC programs using G-code and CAM
software \n Perform in-process and first-article inspections and
make adjustments \n Participate in engineering problem-solving
meetings \n Develop and refine machining processes for continuous
improvement \n Maintain machines, tooling, and a clean 5S-compliant
workspace \n \n This is a hands-on, start-to-finish role where your
machining judgment and problem-solving skills matter. \n \n
Machines, Controls & Software\n You’ll work with equipment such as:
\n Machines: \n \n CNC Mills (Haas, Sharp) \n Manual Mills & Lathes
\n Gear Hobbing Equipment \n Opportunity to expand into grinders
and other machines \n \n Controls & Programming: \n \n G-Code
programming \n FeatureCAM \n \n Inspection & Measurement: \n \n
Precision measurement tools for tight-tolerance gear inspection \n
\n \n What We’re Looking For\n Required \n \n 3 years of CNC
machining experience \n Experience setting up and operating CNC
mills \n Familiarity with manual lathe operations \n Strong
blueprint reading and troubleshooting skills \n Solid understanding
of tooling, setups, and inspection \n Ability to manage time and
work independently \n Strong attention to detail and commitment to
quality \n \n Preferred (Not Required) \n \n CAM programming
experience \n Experience with gear cutting and toolmaking \n
Exposure to grinders and drill presses \n Prototype, R&D, or
engineering lab experience \n \n \n Materials You’ll Work With\n \n
