Description:How will you make an impact?The Accounting Services Specialist will be a key member of our Accounting Services team, supporting our clients by performing various accounting services. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop professionally in accounting with exposure to a diverse set of businesses and industries. Primary responsibilities include:

• Code and record transactions and journal entries
• Process and pay invoices for clients
• Prepare financial statements
• Prepare payroll, preparing checks/direct deposits for clients
• Reconcile bank accounts and trace discrepancies
• Reconcile subsidiary accounts to controls
• Record changes to fixed assets and calculate depreciation and amortization
• Prepare payroll tax payments and forms
• Calculate and pay sales tax
• Prepare 1099s and W-2s
• Provide QuickBooks consulting
• Provide backup support to the Administrative AssistantPrimary responsibilities for this position will include processing payroll, managing AP and AR, creating financial transactions, performing reconciliations and creating statements for Johnson Block & Company clients. Processing financial transactions including posting information to accounting software from source documentation such as invoices, cash receipts and bills. Accounting Services Specialists report to the Accounting Services Supervisor.

    Requirements:Qualifications
    • Being proactive and taking initiative, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
    • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions based on accurate, timely analysis
    • Excellent communication and follow through with client expectations
    • 2+ years of experience working in public accounting preferred
    • Holding an Associate's degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred)
    • Knowledge of payroll processing helpful - knowledge of Sage, QuickBooks or other accounting software
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and research tools
    • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and confidentiality concerning business affairsPhysical Demands & Work Environment
      • Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods of time
      • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
      • Bending, stretching, and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. is required
      • Professional presence and proper phone etiquette are requiredWork Schedule
