Summary:
Well established and growing family-owned company needs a Controller due to an upcoming retirement. Our client, Schumann Printers Inc in Fall River, WI has an opportunity for an accounting professional who wants to be involved in the changes and updating of processes, methods, and software going forward. This is an on-site role working cross-functionally on the day-to-day of the business as well as providing advisement to ownership.
Responsibilities:
Prepare corporate financial statements in a timely fashion
Reconcile the Company's bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers
File monthly sales tax reports
Prep information for bi-weekly payroll and ensure proper payroll tax filings
Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements of any loans or government contracts
Maintain internal control safeguards for the receipt of revenue and expenses
Establish financial and operational benchmarks, budgets program monitoring, and reporting standards on a bi-weekly, monthly, or annual basis
Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs, upholding federal, state, and local legal standards by remaining up to date about existing, new, and future legislation
Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflow
Oversee and support the accounting team with dynamic leadership that creates an environment of trust, productivity, and creativity
Qualifications:
Associates or bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field
Five+ years of related experience
Thorough understanding of budgetary and accounting principles, practices, and policies
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and specialized accounting software
