Staff Accountant As a member of the accounting department, the Staff Accountant position is an integral component of Access' dedication to stewardship in its mission of improving the health and lives of its patients. Primary areas of responsibility include general accounting, supporting audits, month-end and year-end closing support, and support of financial statement preparation and other financial reporting. This role maintains strict confidentiality and uses discretion regarding sensitive information. This position assists the Senior Accountant in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, annual and consolidated financial statements and audit workpapers in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). In addition to preparing reconciliations of general ledger accounts and adjusting journal entries with the guidance of the Senior Accountant, this position also collaborates with the Accounting Clerk to support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable entries and reconciliations. The Staff Accountant is expected to be organized and detailed in their work and to support the rest of the Accounting Department as needed. They will be responsible for maintaining supporting documentation relevant to the annual financial and compliance audit and other audits as needed. The Staff Accountant maintains and supports accounting department processes, prepares journal entries, provides accurate and timely work, and adheres to all internal controls. Interest in CPA licensure or other professional accounting certification.Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Experience using general ledger software.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.Knowledge of the concepts of accounting and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Experience with computer systems, spreadsheets, databases, and reporting software.Experience manipulating and understanding data.Experience analyzing and solving issues and problems.Experience working independently and prioritizing workloads to complete projects.
